Community

Different cultures and religions have different requirements for a funeral and these have to be recognised and met in order for the service to be provided properly.

At New Southgate Cemetery we have created special sections for individual communities so that we are able to satisfy each community’s particular preferences and customs.

For instance, a thick layer of shingle has been laid in our Greek Orthodox sections to replace the grass and match the style of the cemeteries in Cyprus and Greece. Larger memorials are also allowed in response to that community's preference.
